Hola amigos de Itínera Teatro, después de haberles contado cómo ha sido construido este proyecto de Residencias Artísticas, queremos contarles sobre la Primera Residencia Artística que hemos realizado allí. ¡Si! es un lugar inspirador, pero necesita la presencia de artistas y creadores para encontrar su significado.
Un poco de poesía para empezar. El lugar tiene todo lo que necesita el arte: mar, aire y silencio. El viento sutil refresca sin mover las hojas, el mar puede ser una sábana recién puesta o un dragón que se da vuelta gritando el nombre de todas sus guerras. El silencio es una flor violeta con pétalos hechos con el canto de las cigarras. En el piso hay un diseño de triángulos, cuadrados, un semicírculo rodeado de rayos solares y una gama de colores que bajo el techo de palma crean el ambiente más propicio para dejar volar la imaginación y encender el fuego del arte.
En este entorno, Julia y Manuel, fundadores de Itinera, realizaron la primera Residencia Artística durante junio de 2020. Inauguraron este lugar con varias sesiones de entrenamiento y exploración física y vocal. Hicieron preguntas, inventaron secuencias, cantaron y gritaron en dirección al océano.
Esta residencia artística tuvo dos objetivos principales, el primero de ellos, dar espacio al embrión de una nueva obra de teatro y performance de la compañía y el segundo, de esbozar los propósitos de este lugar como espacio creativo para artistas. Era indispensable probar. Surgieron muchas ideas y muchos detalles que iremos contando en nuestras próximas publicaciones, gracias por seguirnos y acompañarnos.
THE FIRST RESIDENCY OF ITINERA
Hi friends of Itínera Theater! After telling you how we built this project of Artistic Residencies, we would like to tell you more about the first Artistic Residency that we’ve realized there because: yes! It’s an inspiring place, but it needs the presence of the artists and the creators to find its meaning.
A little bit of poetry to start: the place has everything that art needs: the sea, the air and the silence. The subtle wind refreshes without even moving the leaves of the trees and takes the sea in its hands and destroys it on the rocks. The sea can be a freshly laid sheet or a dragon that rolls over screaming the name of all its wars. The silence is a purple flower with petals made with the cicadas song. The air is a mixture that tangles in the birds’ wings.
In this environment, Julia and Manuel, Itinera’s founders, carried out the first Artistic Residence during June 2020. They inaugurated this place with several training sessions and physical and vocal explorations. They asked questions, invented physical sequences, sang and shouted in the direction of the ocean.
This artistic residency had two main objectives: the first one, to give space to the embryo of a new theater performance of the Company and the second, to outline the purposes of this place as a creative space for artists.
