Dentro de todas las maneras de habitar, hay una en especial que busca ayudar, crecer y nutrir el mundo: el voluntariado. Personas que su propósito inicial es que el otro avance, se sienta bien, encuentre alegría o tranquilidad, y que nos enseñan cuánto importante es preservar el objetivo en común. Personas que viajan para conocer y aprender, pero sobretodo para colaborar.

Este año, tuvimos la suerte de recibir voluntarios que se unieron a nuestra causa, a cambio de la posibilidad de compartir y que sin ellos hubiera sido imposible hacer lo que hicimos. Nos ayudaron a construir, a buscar llantas, a armar, a pintar, a cavar. Nos ayudaron a sembrar, a mover tierra. Nos acompañaron en los momentos de mayor incertidumbre. Con ellos y ellas jugamos ajedrez, cantamos, cocinamos juntos, hicimos caminatas en la playa y en el bosque.  Nos compartieron sus dudas y sus conocimientos.

A todos ellos queremos extender nuestro más sincero agradecimiento. Alan, Rodrigo, Luis, Jonathan, con su actitud y su espíritu dieron a este lugar la energía mexicana que necesitaba.  A Fanny, (Hungría) Lea (Canada), Nicolás (Francia), Timothy (Francia), Ana (Cuba), Santos (New Zeland), que nos encontramos por azar y escogieron quedarse y acompañarnos. A todos ellos y ellas… Gracias, siempre bienvenidos.

Pero un momento!!! Antes de concluir queremos hacer un agradecimiento especial a Romain, el mago, el músico, el carpintero, el chef, el voluntario y el amigo. Con su gran sentido del humor, su imaginación y su practicidad nos ayudó muchísimo. Con él estudiamos el diseño del baño, cavamos el gran hoyo del baño seco y reconstruimos la cocina. Él iluminó la Minka y con él elevamos el techo hasta su sitio. Probamos sus platos franceses, hicimos música, jugamos cartas y nos reímos hasta que se acabó el mezcal. Romain fue el hombre del ajedrez. Construyó uno, haciendo las fichas en barro y llevándolas al horno, una por una, talladas. Gracias por todo Romain!

There are many ways of living, but there is one in particular that seeks to help, grow and nurture the world: volunteering. People, that have as initial purpose to helps other people feel good, find joy or tranquillity. They teach us how important it is to preserve a common goal. The travel to explore and learn, but above all to collaborate.

This year, we were lucky to receive volunteers who joined our cause, in exchange for the possibility of sharing. Without them, it would have been impossible to do what we did. They helped us to build, find tires, assemble, paint, dig. They helped us to sow, to move the dirt. They accompanied us in the greatest uncertain moments. We played chess with them, sang and cooked together; we walked on the beach and in the woods. They shared their doubts and their knowledge with us.

To all of them, we want to extend our sincere gratitude. Alan, Rodrigo, Luis, Jonathan, that with their attitude and spirit gave to this place the Mexican energy that needed. Fanny (Hungary), Lea (Canada), Nicolás (France), Timothy (France), Ana (Cuba), Santos (New Zealand), that we met by chance and that they chose to stay and join us. To ll of you…. Thank you, you will be always welcome.

But just a moment! Before concluding we want to make a special thanks to Romain; magician, musician, carpenter, chef, volunteer and friend. With his great sense of humor, his imagination and his practicality he helped us a lot. With him, we studied the dry bathroom design, we dug the big hole of the dry toilet and we rebuilt the kitchen. He illuminated the Minka and with him, we put in place the roof. We tried his French dishes, we played music, we played cards and we laughed until the mezcal ran out. Romain was the man of chess. He built one, making the tiles out of clay and taking them to the oven, one by one, carved. Thanks for everything Romain !
